About

Welcome, baker. This app was made for you, by me.

I am Fem, and I started baking sourdough the way most people do: with a jar on the counter and no idea what I was doing. I wanted simple, nourishing loaves for my family. What I found were recipes that assumed I had nowhere else to be. Feed at eight, mix at noon, shape at four, bake before bed.

Fem, founder of The Sourdough Planner, smiling in front of a stone wall

At the time we had a newborn and I was trying to function on a sleep deprived mombrain. Understanding what a stretch and fold even was felt like too much. After three long attempts I put the jar away.

So if you have ever felt that sourdough is wonderful but not quite made for your life, I know exactly where you are standing. That feeling is why this app exists.

What it does

The Sourdough Planner asks three things: what you would like to bake, when you want it out of the oven, and when you are asleep or busy. Then it builds the timeline around your day instead of the other way around. The long waits run through your night. The hands-on moments land in your waking hours. And when you are early, or late, or your kitchen runs hot, the plan adjusts quietly instead of leaving you to do the maths.

Bake first, master it along the way.

You do not need to understand fermentation to bake good bread. You need to bake, more than once, and let the understanding arrive on its own. This app never asks you to know more than you do.

Built and run by one person

I design, build and look after this app myself. That means two things. It stays close to how baking actually works in a real kitchen, and it can keep getting better with every message I receive. If something confuses you, breaks, or could be kinder, tell me. Your notes determine what I build next.

My hope is simple: that sourdough becomes something more people can fit into their lives and budgets. And that one of them is you.

Happy baking,

Fem
